Abstract of the movie DIVERGENT

DIVERGENT is an action, adventure and even romance movie in 2014. Although, it only got 7.1 points on IMDb, it really meets my taste. This movie is edited based on the novel by Veronica Roth. It described a further world where people are divided into five groups, factions, to keep the peace. The smart ones, the ones who value knowledge and logic are in erudite. Amity farm the land. They’re all about kindness and harmony, always happy. Candor value honesty and order. Dauntless perform as protectors, soldiers, police. The last faction is abnegation. People call them stiffs. These stiffs lead a simple life, selfless, dedicated to helping others, even feed the factionless. The motto of this society is Faction before blood. Everyone whose parents are in faction system must choose its own faction when his or her grow up. The heroine, Beatrice, chose dauntless and begin her new life. In fact, she is a divergent, with features from all the factions. The divergent are out of the faction system and may threaten the peace of the society. The erudite are afraid of them, and try to kill them all and even the abnegation faction which is so-called protecting divergent. Romantically, Beatrice meet her lover, a deeply hidden divergent in the dauntless. Then a fight and adventure story began.

I’m a divergent!

Personally speaking, I’m really a divergent but may not as full powered as Beatrice. I’m not sure if I choose the dauntless, what would happen. When the movie goes to that Beatrice jump from high building to go into the dauntless home. I just told myself. Oh! It’s not true for a girl without knowing the truth just abey the ridiculous guide. It’s just MOVIE! With heroine light, she wouldn’t die! Everything directly daunt my life, just daunt me. I don’t think it’s a coward thinking. Because I believe, as long as I am alive, I can do more meaningful things.

HongKong for China, divergent region?

I update this part because of recently HongKong events. The Hong Kong authorities are now facing a smallish, peaceful week-long sit-in/teach-in at Tamar by students boycotting classes. The reason is still in fuzziness in Chinese news media. Because of the “one country, two systems” policy. HongKong has allowed to keep capitalist system. That’s total different from China mainland. HongKong and China, Divergent in social spirit. As showed in the movie, Divergent means disobedient. And most importantly, the authority tries to make other groups obedient and in this way to keep their govern. For HongKong, I’m not sure this divergent region would influence China mainland polity or on the contrary. I hope the first result. China also needs improve like HongKong. Anyway, please keep my motherland peaceful and prosperous! Does China government tolerate the divergent? Yes, they do. As I’m a divergent.
